Here's the nutshell. The city of Austin hastily made a bad deal to use our money ($65 million) to subsidize a humongous shopping complex composed of high-end chain stores. Nearly 500 local businesses, together with 27,000 voters who signed petitions, have called for a vote this November to put the brakes on tax giveaways that undermine local business and raise the cost of living in our beloved city of Austin.
Austin-based businesses have joined together with community leaders and citizens to stop the City of Austin from giving $65+ million in tax subsidies to the Domain Mall in NW Austin.
