Republican music

The McCain campaign can leave Heart, Jackson Browne, Mellencamp, Foo Fighters, and Orleans alone now. He and Palin have inspired Hank Williams Jr.*

Like McCain's personal version of the Beach Boys' "Barbara Ann," Hank Jr. has taken his old hit song and put some *spin* on it... the kind of spin we're used to from the right. You might want to grab a slug of Pepto Bismol and a sick bag first.

That's all she wrote, dear John.
Oh well, I've never been a fan of Hank Jr. but I am a huge fan of his dad. Here's the real thing, a live performance of Hank singing "Dear John"**:
Now Jonah got along in the belly of the whale,
Daniel in the lion's den,
But I know a guy that didn't try to get along,
And he won't get a chance again,
And that's all she wrote, dear John,
I've fetched your saddle home.

Hank Williams lyrics

*for the record (ooooh, that's a stinky pun!!!), Brooks and Dunn also did a song for McCain.
**a rare cover song, written by Tex Ritter and Aubrey Gass.

You obviously don't need much to inspire old Bosephus - usually just a six of Bud and a line does it. But he's getting lazier all the time. He couldn't even be bothered to come up with anything original for McCain, which, when you think of it, is just about right.
