How far would you go to lose weight? Depends.

And something tells me that the name tag would be unnecessary, that you would need no introduction. [LINK] This is a diet pill, and the manufacturer (GlaxoSmithKline) recommends that you wear dark pants or bring a change of clothes with you until you get used to it.*

The pill block 25% of fat from being digested, and if you're going to have more than 15 grams of fat at one meal, you may want to stay close to home... in a diaper. Plastic might come in handy. The drug is called "Alli" and of course, sometimes these mishaps are called "Alli Oops". Make up your own jokes, I mean it's hard NOT to do that.

*assuming they mean getting used to eating less fat, not getting used to the "side effects"... or are they "rear effects"? Somebody stop me!!

Not to mention the damage to the liver, but who needs a liver anyway.

Never believed in these magic diets. About 2 years ago, The JohnnyB and I decided it's time we did something about all that extra weight, rather than just complain about it over a 3-course dinner...

So, we simply started to eat reasonably, use common sense, and think twice before we start gulping everything we feel like. Worked incredibly well - we would constantly lose 2 pounds (me) and 4 pounds (him) a week, for several months. The results were quite impressing, and yet, everyone who asked how we are doing it, and got the honest answer, demanded to know the
nameof our diet and who also diets like that... As MichaelBains always claims: Silly Humans! Indeed!!

Bill Cosby had a joke about Momsbeing worried about kids having clean underwear in case of an accident.

Sometimes, that is the accident.

First you say, then you do it.

Dag, you know, the fact that people are asking for these really makes me ponder the future of humanity. On the other hand, at least evolution is still at work.

I remember when those "fat substitutes" first came and they had those warnings. I'm almost shocked that this crapola is still around.

Wish I could actually be shocked by it...

Hmmm. I don't know that this is a good thing.

What I have HEARD though is that the idea is to turn you off of fatty foods- you know you will shit yourself so you begin to avoid them. This supposedly works to change the way compulsive fat eaters look at their habits.

But see the dumb part of that is that a compulsive eater is COMPULSIVE.

I think some are dissuaded by the thought of themselves in a bathing suit, or a heart attack, or high blood pressure, etc. Some are not or just can't seem to have lasting results. Even if these pills make you avoid fat, what happens when the weight is lost and then you know you aren't taking the pills?

Square one, plus ten- as they say.

Temporary answers seem to hurt people.
