Here's Jax enjoying a little TV watching. He likes to sit pretty close to the screen just in case there are birds on there...
Poor Jax needed a steroid injection for his skin allergies this week, he had a terrrrible case of the itchies. The day before I got him the shot, I tried giving him an oral antihistamine. It was every bit the total fiasco that those "giving a cat a pill" jokes are about. When I finally got the pill through those jaws, he started salivating like something rabid, running all over the room leaving a slime trail of spit and flinging it on us when we tried catching him. We calmed him down and gave him a snack (snacks are magical), and since the pill did go in he was fast asleep in about 10 minutes.
Here's a little bonus pic of one of the new kittens from next door (the one we call "Cheeta"). He jumped straight up when I took his picture. Kittens! What a cutie pie.

Have you tried a liquid form of the antihistamine in a syringe? That's how I give medicine to my bunnies.
I understand what you mean about giving medication. I had to give Boo some gloopy goo in a syringe and I got the foaming at the mouth and saliva everywhere too. Made me feel so guilty. I still gave her the medicine though. Thankfully she is done with it!
Bunnies? How cute! Yeah, I'd worry about the liquid bringing the same result, unless he would just drink it willingly... heh, heh... well, it's a thought.
Giving medicine to kitties is SO hard. I have a routine that works for me. Wiskerz needs 3 small pills per day for life!! Everyday , 2X per day, I crush a pill and a half in one tsp gravy from the canned food (certain select varieties, of course!). He loves it and laps it up and then he gets the rest of the can. The only drawback is that he seems to be putting on weight. BUT he is happy and active. I couldn't take the look of "why are you doing this to me" when I tried to force a pill down his throat. I might be able to do it if it were just during a temporary illness. Also, one time my kids decided to give Wiskerz some lemon juice - that brought on the foaming behavior!
