Yardblogging

Working like a fiend this week, got some stuff I want to post but will have to wait until I get a break. In the meantime, enjoy this pic from the backyard. It's a late Autumn bloomer called Copper Canyon Daisy, and there's a pretty good patch of it back there now.

That picture reminds me of my back yard in August. I have (Helianthus giganteus) Giant Sunflower or Tall Sunflower your Copper Canyon Daisy looks almost identical to it. It grows in swamps, wet thickets, and meadows. The flowers are very small, it's the height of the plant that it gets it's name from.

Have you ever seen (Helianthus tuberosus) Jerusalem Artichoke? Also very similiar looking.

Ahhh, that's lovely. Right now it's about ten degrees in NE Ohio and we got our first mild winter lashing. I miss flowers.

Thanks for sharing...hope you get a break again very soon...
